Tours "FAQ"

Tour Payment Policy:

Non-refundable deposit of $25 per person due at time of booking, remainder due 30 days prior to tour date. Payment due in full if tour is booked with less then 30 days to tour date.

Tour Refund policy:

If you have reservations for a open group tour and cancel more then 10 days prior to your tour date, you have a choice of booking another tour for the same season, or receiving a refund for the amount of the tour minus the twenty five dollar non-refundable deposit. No refund if you cancel less then 10 days before your tour date.

Private Group tours must be cancelled 30 days before tour date.

Weather cancellation policy:

ACS reserves the right to cancel a trip due to unsafe weather. Our rain policy calls for cancellation in steady rain, while light rain or the chance of showers does not automatically mean the end of a trip. Only ACS can determine if a trip will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made on the day before a trip by 11:00 a.m. You will be notified by phone if a trip has been cancelled, or you may call the shop at 516-755-2453  after 11:00 a.m. on the day before a trip.

If you have reservations for a trip that gets cancelled / postponed, due to rain, you have a choice of booking another trip for the same season, or receiving a refund for the amount of the trip minus the twenty five dollar non-refundable deposit. Rain cannot be stopped, but we do our best to keep you dry and happy.

If the weather changes during a trip, we will do our best to accommodate you and continue with safe activities. Please understand that cancellation decisions are made for your safety and are made at the discretion of the trip leaders. All decisions made by trip leaders are non-negotiable.

Canceled Tours?

ACS has the right to cancel any tour at any time. If we cancel your tour for any reason, besides weather, you will receive a full refund.

Where do the tours meet?

When you book a tour you will receive an email with a map link and directions to our meet location. You will be notified of any changes in the tour start location with a phone call & email.

How Early Should I Arrive at the Tour Starting point?

You should arrive at least 20 minutes before tour start time. This allows time to check in and get ready for the tour. Tours start on-time and NO Refund for late arrival.

Can I bring my own bike?

You are welcome to bring your own bike; however, we assume no responsibility for the safety of nor any damage to your bike while on tour with us.  We cannot be responsible for scratches or other damages that may be incurred.

Moreover, while riding your own bike with us, you will be responsible for any required roadside maintenance as well as any parts or tubes as needed.

What's for lunch?

Our menu changes with the season to take advantage of the best locally produced foods. Contact us for specific food requirements, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Lunch always includes a variety of all of the food you will need to fuel your body for the ride. You can count on carbohydrates, protein, fruits, veggies and desserts to satisfy all of your taste bud needs.

What kind of clothing should I wear?

Any comfortable clothing that you would normally wear for an active day is fine—shorts and T-shirts are acceptable. Wicking fabrics are always a great option. Cycling apparel is often the best choice and always appropriate. Be sure to wear comfortable closed toe shoes; sandals are not recommended for safety reasons. Many of our trips are in coastal locations, which tend to vary in weather. Remember to check the forecast before your trip to plan properly for the day.

What else should I bring?

Sun Block, Camera, Sun Glasses, Light Jacket, Hat for when you are not riding. Cell Phone

What if I "taste" too much wine?

At ACS we do not recommend drinking wine when cycling. We always suggest to our guests:
"swirl, sniff, sip & spit"! We hope you find a bottle (or more) you would like to purchase and really enjoy later.

If you do choose to drink, rather than taste the wines please let our leaders know, and we will be happy to shuttle you back in the support vehicle.

What if I get a flat tire?

Our trip leaders are experienced cyclists and can assist in flat changing and other roadside repairs. Any repairs performed on a personal bicycle may occur a service fee.

What if I get lost?

You will have a detailed cue sheet with directions for your ride, but if, at any time, you find yourself lost call our trip leaders, and we can either direct you back on course or send a leader to find you.

Do you do corporate outings?

Yes! A day away from the cubicle can be a great way to revitalize a team. We will develop a program of outdoor activities to meet your needs whether it’s facilitated team-building exercises, hiking, biking or any combination of activities for the day. Contact us to discuss your team outing.
