Jamis Spring Bicycle Demo

 Jamis Bicycles and Adventure Cycles & Sports of Farmingdale, will be having a bicycle demo to highlight the launch of several new 2008 products, in both mountain and road categories.

 A fleet of full suspension bicycles, a selection of famous Jamis hardtails and newly released 29’ers will be represented.

 The road line will have several models available for test rides.

 Stillwell Woods Park, Syosset, NY, Starts @ 10am

Beginner / Intermediate / Expert  trails to choose from.

Guided trail tours by CLIMB (Concerned Long Island Mountain Bicyclists)

 Snacks Provided by Domenico’s Restaurant of Levittown www.domenicosrestaurant.net

Raffles for some great prizes.

 Helmets are mandatory and will not be provided.

Credit Card and Drivers License necessary to demo bikes.

Bring personal clipless pedals and helmet.

 

Take 495 to Exit 46 North, Sunnyside Blvd. Take Sunnyside Blvd north to Woodbury Road. Turn right onto Woodbury Road. Take Woodbury Road to R25. Turn left onto R25. Turn right onto South Woods Road. Just after Syosset High School turn right into the soccer field. Bear right and go to the end of the field, the trailhead is in the southeastern corner.

ACS Bicycle Touring & Commuting Seminar

 

Adventure Cycles & Sports with Adventure Cycling Association will be presenting a two hour information seminar about Bicycle Touring and Commuting. Join us to learn more about Adventure Cycling Association and their network of long distance bicycle routes across the country, how they can help you plan your next or first bicycle trip. Also learn more about how you can join ACS on one of their tours of Long Island, from one day to multi-day.

 

Lots of giveaways, Fun and refreshments. Space is limited so reserve early.

Basic Bicycle Maintenance & Repair

ACS in association with "The Park Tool School" has put together a lesson on how to care for your bike, plus Tube / Tire repair and replacement. This class will follow the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair.

  • 12. Bike Washing

  • 1-2. Lubrication & Cleaners

  • 6-6. Chain Cleaning

  • 6-5. Chain Wear & Damage

  • 6-7. Chain Lubrication

  • 2. Tire & Tubes

Time: 7pm-9pm

Place: Adventure Cycles & Sports, Farmingdale

Why: To learn bicycle maintenance on your own bike from our expert instructor.

Cost: $25 - Includes Class, Bicycle Tube Repair & Inflation Wallet (retail $20), Refreshments

This class will last for two hours and has limited seating.

Each registered student must bring there own bicycle to class.

The "Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair" is available at ACS,
